Iran's special representative on Afghanistan to meet Pakistani officials

Tehran, IRNA –The Iranian president's special envoy on Afghanistan arrived in the Pakistani capital on Friday morning to confer with Pakistani officials on issues related to Afghanistan.

Hassan Kazemi Qomi was welcomed by the ambassador of Iran in Pakistan and some officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

Iran’s special envoy for Afghanistan is scheduled to separately meet Special with Assistant to Prime Minister on Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

"Both Pakistan and Iran are also participating in a regional conference on Afghanistan to be held on July 26 in Tashkent. Both sides would discuss various proposals related to the conference as well. Special representatives from twenty countries in Afghanistan would also be attending the conference," Pakistani newspaper The Nation said early.

The Nationa also said, "Issues related to border management between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan and regional connectivity would come under discussion."
